Simon Van de Sande
Business Development Manager of Asia-Pacific region, DEME
Simon Van de Sande is Business Development Manager for the Asia-Pacific region for DEME, one of the world’s largest dredging and marine engineering concerns. He specialises in the execution of complex projects in East Asian regulatory regimes. Recently, he has focused on the set-up and start-up of DEME’s offshore wind subsidiary in Taiwan, CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering Co. Ltd. (CDWE), a joint venture with CSBC Corporation Taiwan.
Simon also has substantial experience in the development of dredging, reclamation and port development projects across the region for DEME and, prior to that, for a Taiwanese terminal operator.
Simon participates in the board of Belgium’s Prince Albert Fund, of which he is a Laureate; he holds a postgraduate degree in development economics from National Taiwan University.
