Andre Martin is the Head of Innovative Risk Solutions APAC, based in Singapore, and has more than 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry.

Andre started his career with ABB / Alstom Power in Switzerland. After several years as a consultant with Accenture’s Resource & Energy practice in Zurich Andre joined Swiss Re in 2002, underwriting large industrial risks in the Middle East and South Asia. In 2006 Andre relocated for Swiss Re to Sydney as Underwriter and Portfolio Manager for Construction in the ANZ region. From 2013 onwards Andre was heading the Engineering & Construction team in the APAC region.

During his tenure with Swiss Re Andre has underwritten and serviced the insurance of many large and complex construction projects ranging from heavy civils, across mining to power and energy. With his technical background in the power sector, Andre has also been instrumental in the origination and structuring of parametric risk solutions in the energy and weather space.

Andre holds a Masters degree in mechanical engineering from ETH in Zurich as well as an MBA from UniSA in Adelaide. Andre is also a certified Energy Risk Professional (ERP) by GARP.
