Joint Head of Singapore Joint Law Venture of Pinsent
Mohan is the Joint Head of Singapore Joint Law Venture of Pinsent Masons MPillay LLP. He is qualified in Singapore, and England and Wales, with over 30 years’ experience in advisory, commercial litigation and regional arbitration work, particularly in construction and engineering projects.
Mohan is a Senior Accredited Specialist in Building and Construction Law, and has advised clients on complex disputes over projects in Singapore, China, Malaysia, Maldives, Indonesia, India and Vietnam, involving power plants, and oil and gas production facilities. infrastructure, airport, building construction, under ICC, UNCITRAL, SIAC and other arbitration rules. He appears regularly as Lead Counsel, both before arbitration tribunals, as well as the High Court and Court of Appeal in Singapore.
He is also a Chartered Arbitrator and has been appointed Arbitrator (both sole and presiding) in domestic and international matters. He is a Founding Fellow of the International Academy of Construction Lawyers, and the past co-Chair of the Dispute Resolution & Arbitration Committee of the Inter Pacific Bar Association (2014 – 2018). His past appointments include President of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb) and Chairman, Society of Construction Law, (Singapore (SCL)).
Mohan is regularly ranked as a leading practitioner in legal publications. He was rated the only Band 1 lawyer for construction in Singapore, by Chambers Asia Pacific Guide (2015). He remains only 1 of 2 Band 1 lawyers for construction in Singapore in the Chambers Asia Pacific Guide (2019). Mohan is also listed as a Leading Individual for International Arbitration in Singapore by Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and has been recognised as a Thought Leader for Construction in Who’s Who Legal.
