Karsten Stoltenberg
Country Manager Japan, New Energy Solutions (NES), Equinor ASA
Karsten Stoltenberg joined the Natural Gas division of Equinor in 2002. Prior to that, Mr. Stoltenberg worked in investment banking and as head of Continental European trading for a major Scandinavian power producer. Within Equinor’s Natural Gas division, he had responsibility to develop Equinor’s natural gas asset and project portfolio in Germany and neighboring countries. From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Stoltenberg was Equinor’s country manager in Germany.
Between 2007 and 2010, he worked in Equinor’s Retail division, with responsibilities for developing small-scale LNG value chains to industrial end-users and heading the health, safety and environment team.
From 2010 until 2017, Mr. Stoltenberg worked in Equinor’s international oil and gas upstream division, working as manager of business controlling, asset manager and country manager in Azerbaijan.
In 2017, Mr. Stoltenberg joined the New Energy solutions division of Equinor, initially with responsibility for regulatory affairs and analysis. He holds his current position since March 2018.
