David is global head of our power and utilities practice and advises sponsors and funders in connection with the acquisition, development and financing of power and renewables projects. Over the past two decades, he has worked on in excess of 70 renewables and power projects across Asia, UK, continental Europe, the Middle East and North and sub-Saharan Africa and advised on the successful implementation of over 15 GW of new capacity. David’s recent work includes advising JBIC, EKF and 16 commercial banks on the £2.6bn financing of the Moray East offshore wind farm, as well as Kansai Electric on its acquisition of a 16% stake in the 860 MW Triton Knoll offshore windfarm. His experience covers all aspects of power and renewables practice, including commercial contracts (PPAs, fuel supply, construction and O&M/LTSA arrangements) and complex ECA and commercial bank finance documentation. He also advises on shareholder and share purchase documentation.
