About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a deep understanding of electrical systems and experience in the design, installation, operation, and optimization of systems. This role involves overseeing electrical system designs for photovoltaic (PV) projects, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving project success from conceptualization to execution.
In this role, you will:
Supervise electrical designs for solar power projects.
Create and review electrical circuit diagrams, single-line diagrams, and grid connection diagrams.
Select and specify equipment such as inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
Review and optimize designs created by team members and external consultants.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting at installation sites.
Ensure compliance with domestic laws (e.g., Electric Utility Industry Law, Building Standards Act) and international standards (e.g., IEC, UL).
Coordinate grid connection procedures with utility companies, suppliers, and contractors.
Prepare and submit documents and drawings required for permits and approvals.
Manage and develop the electrical engineering team.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resources.
Promote smooth communication related to electrical engineering between departments (project management, procurement, construction) and with clients.
Evaluate system performance post-installation and propose optimizations.
Improve system reliability through regular maintenance and fault analysis.
You might thrive if you:
Are a native Japanese speaker with business-level English proficiency.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Have at least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, including a managerial role.
Possess practical experience in solar power generation or the renewable energy field.
Are proficient in electrical design software (CAD, PVsyst, ETAP, etc.).
Have knowledge of Japan’s power grid and distribution systems.
Have a basic understanding of power electronics, battery systems, and SCADA systems.
Hold a driver’s license.
Possess an Electrical Chief Engineer (Class III or higher) or equivalent qualifications.
Have certifications related to solar power (e.g., PV Design Engineer, NABCEP certification).
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exhibit excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
Can manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
