The Regional Head of Renewables will provide oversight of our client’s existing portfolio of renewables engineering assignments in South East Asia. This role will also provide mentoring and support to team members and contribute to project delivery, occasionally as project director or technical specialist or both.
The role will be focused on growing our existing team and capabilities in the sector while consolidating and improving processes and delivering high levels of growth.
The Regional Head of Renewables will be also responsible for the local cost center, including all profit and loss aspects.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership
- Contribute to business management as a member of the APAC Management Team and play an active role in the development of our renewable energy business and teams.
- Manage the recruitment, development, and coordination of the Performance team.
- Mentor and nurture team members with honesty and authenticity.
- Build healthy and productive relationships with clients and identify business growth opportunities.
- Collaborate widely with colleagues in other regions, including sector specialists, country managers, and technical colleagues.
Delivery
- Responsible for cost center P/L and deliverables.
- Managing and contributing to the delivery of technical advisory services, including communication with clients, coordination of resources, management of time and budget, preparation of clear and accurate Lenders and Owners reports, and deliverables.
- Developing and agreeing on a specific and executable Regional Business Plan with targets.
- Meeting and developing relationships with existing clients, including banks, equity funds, and developers, primarily in Singapore but also other markets in South East Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
- Managing a network of local partners and subconsultants to assist in delivery.
- Ensuring that our client is shortlisted and empanelled for upcoming opportunities.
- Preparing and executing a local marketing plan, including region-specific collateral and attendance at conferences, etc.
- Developing local partners in the region with supporting services or market representation beyond the our client network.
- Preparing and submitting costed, accurate, and attractive proposals.
- Negotiating and closing assignments with appropriate commercial terms.
- Ensuring client satisfaction and relationship building.
Coordination
- Coordinating closely with other our client offices in the region to leverage existing local capability knowledge and networks. Jointly developing country-specific strategies.
- Face-to-face meetings and presentations with clients and other parties.
- Site visits and other in-country activities.
- Coordination of resources and support from the broader our client group.
- Liaising with and supporting Business Development activities in the wider our client group, including with ADB, IFC, and other DFIs.
- Identifying other potential clients and initiating contacts, in close coordination with local our client offices.
Business Improvement
- Improve documentation and processes to ensure high-quality project outputs.
- Cooperate with the wider group to ensure quality standards worldwide.
- Develop in-house tools for delivering and managing work effectively.
- Establish guidelines for consultants to follow and provide training to achieve a consistent approach/output.
