Petty knows the impact of weather. Her encounter of severe weather at sea during her days sailing onboard commercial ships made her familiar with how risks may best be avoided by being informed. Petty has been involved in weather intelligence for over 20 years. Currently a director of StormGeo, APAC, with track record in managing weather services for commercial shipping, Petty leads StormGeo’s latest initiative in expanding weather risk avoidance for offshore wind industries from the North Sea to Asia. Since 2018, 6 offshore windfarm projects in Taiwan are receiving advice such as, whether the day is suitable for working at your offshore windfarm, or whether you need to be taking shelter from lightning in the coming hours.
